Unlike all the other badge qualities above, the Photo Etched with Soft Enamel badge is not made with a die and tool and it is not stamped. Instead, a mould, which resembles a black and white negative of your pin design in its actual size, is made. This mould contains your pin design spread across a transparent film the size of a sheet of paper. This paper is then placed onto a brass sheet of similar size. Through a photographic process, using an etching machine, the design on the mould is transferred onto the brass sheet.

The sheet of brass containing your pin designs are then colored with soft enamel and cut to shape.  As the Etched pin is not stamped, the brass is very thin - usually no more than 0.8mm.  However, as the process to make Etched pins is easier than to make a stamped pin, we can often make very large or complicated designs in this quality.

Specifications: Brass material approximately 0.8mm in thickness.  As small as 3/8" or less and as large as 10" or more.
